GEORGIA ENVIRONMENTAL POLICY ACT
Georgia Senate Bill 97, known as the Georgia Environmental Policy Act (GEPA),
generally states that any proposed governmental action be evaluated for
potential impacts on the following resources:
- wetlands
- flood plains /river corridors
- water supply
- water resources
- groundwater recharge areas
- stormwater
- wastewater
- air quality
- solid wastes
- soil stability/erodibility
- protected mountains
- protected species
|
- critical habitats
- historical
- archeological
- parks/recreation
- energy supplies
- beaches
- dunes
- shorelines
- estuaries
- forest lands
- barrier islands
- aquatic life/trout streams
|
Our studies typically consist of a literature review to identify the potential
occurrence of these resources on or near the project site, followed by a field
reconnaissance of the site and surrounding area to verify the presence or
absence of these resources. A Phase I GEPA Report is then prepared for submittal
to our client. If the proposed project causes significant impacts, we prepare a
Phase II Environmental Effects Report. |
