BIO
Richard W. Whiteside, Ph.D., C.W.B. has over 25 years of experience in
environmental permitting and ecological assessment. He has extensive
experience in wetland wildlife-land use relationships, terrestrial and
aquatic environmental assessments, land use analyses, and outdoor
recreation/socioeconomic evaluations.
Rick has conducted/directed over 500 comprehensive environmental assessments
within the major ecosystems of the southeast, northeast, southwest and
western United States, and Alaska. He has international experience in Puerto
Rico and Kenya.
Rick earned his B.S. from Clemson University, M.S. from Mississippi State
University, and his Ph.D. from Texas Tech University. Prior to the formation
of WEC, he was an Assistant Vice President and Corporate Natural Resources
Consultant with a large engineering and environmental consulting firm. He
also has served on the Biological Advisory Boards at Texas Tech University
and Kennesaw State University, and is a Certified Wildlife Biologist, and a
member of the The Wildlife Society and Society of Wetland Scientists. Rick
resides in Waleska, GA with his wife, Patti, and has four grown children. |
