DELINEATIONS
WEC conducts jurisdictional delineation to confirm the presence or absence of
streams, wetlands, and other waters of the U.S. on a project site. Our services
include an initial in-house review of available information such as soil
surveys, topographic maps, aerial photographs, and National Wetland Inventory
maps. Potential jurisdictional areas are then investigated during a site visit
to confirm their presence or absence, followed by a field delineation (i.e.
flagged) for visual reference and for a subsequent metes-and-bounds survey using
methodology described in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers 1987 Wetland
Delineation Manual. Typically, these boundaries are surveyed using our in-house
Global Positioning System (GPS) to sub-meter accuracy. These digital survey data
are placed on the client’s development plans and directly provided to the client
to determine what level of permitting is required.
